Week 4 EOC: Business to Business Marketing

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

I am classified into the demographics of being an "Echo Baby Boomer", I am the generation of children born to the original "Baby Boomers". The definition of a traditional Echo Baby Boomer is that they are ethnically diverse children of the computer age, very comfortable with digital communications & equipment, moderately conformist, untroubled by the generation gap. This group is large (three times that of the preceding Generation X) and has been posing demographic problems, especially in areas such as education. The group has become known by many names, like the "Millennial Generation" (or the Millennials). Some ways that I differ from the stereotypical millenial is that I practic religion, I am white, I also do not live with my parents and did not have a hard time moving into adulthood & out on my own. These are all odds that differ from standard echo baby boomers.

Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

When researching a company that donates a profit of their earnings to a good cause I came across the company Jack's Soap. Did you know that, according to the World Health Organization and UNICEF, more than 5,000 children die every day from diseases that could have been prevented simply by washing their hands? That's a horrifying statistic that Jack's Soap founder Bridget Hilton could not live with. So she took action and over a period of just three months she created & launched a for-profit company that, for every bar of soap sold, donates one to a child in need. These luxury soaps are made with organic ingredients, use recycled packaging materials, and are vegan and cruelty free as well.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

In my opinion the breakdown of the video game industry into a Boston Consulting Group Matrix would be that there are definitely technologies that fall into the four categories of Cash Cow, Star, Question Mark, and Dog. Some products and innovations that belong in the Cash Cow section are Xbox and PlayStation devices. Some items in this industry that belong in Dog section of the BCG Matrix are Wii systems, hard copy discs, major hardware systems. Some products that belong in the star group of the matrix are mobile devices. Mobile Video gaming is the way of the future for this industry. Consumers want quick and easy access to games, and they want their games to be very portable. One concept in video gaming that belongs in the Question mark area of the Matrix for this industry is streaming gaming. The concept of live gaming is to be seen, and with the way live streaming of music has gone; I can see this idea going far in video gaming as well.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

Once upon a time I had great customer service when I went to Target. I had something that I wanted to return and I no longer had my receipt. I was almost expecting to have no just settle with a merchandise card instead of have the initial purchase price put back onto my banks checking account card. The lady behind the customer service counter was so helpful, she didn't seem "annoyed" with my returning merchandise, she didn't just rudely tell me it had to be returned to a store merchandise card; what she did was go above and beyond to look up my particular transaction for that purchase that was done more than a month prior and she was able to print off a receipt to refund me the money to my original bank account. I was so pleased with this extra service, and found her thoughtfulness and not so lazy attitude to really help me out in the long run...

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

As a professional in the fashion industry, I have always loved the fashion world. I can remember being a small girl and sketching fashions and making art in relation to fashion. I am a painter by trade and it is the one thing that relaxes me more than anything; it's my passion. I knew early that my calling in the career world was going to be art related. I started off here at the Art Institute very interested in Graphic Design, and had plans to use my artistic skill in a very direct manner. Pursuing Graphics left me empty, I knew what was consuming my mind 24/7 and I could not ignore it! I realized I am totally consumed in the fashion world, image, branding, and the pure art of fashion design.
